PTC’s Digital Art(Net)work Presents: Beth Hall
Beth Hall: highlighted from 5/15 – 6/15, 2014
Beth Hall is a self-taught photographer with a background in science and psychology. She brings her sense of adventure and wonder to her works, as her photography exudes a love for texture, vibrancy, and for the details that hide amongst the ordinary. Taken in nature and urban settings, Hall captures her images in-camera, using subjects occurring in both dynamic settings. Her unique expertise lies in her ability to play with light, movement and exposure, as she shoots ordinary subjects in extraordinary ways.
It is through this method that her works often resemble a painting more than a photograph, as each piece invites the viewer to bring their own interpretation. Hall’s love of bold colours, aesthetics and creative expression of all forms allows her to create images that fuse such elements of design, painting, nature and the performing arts.
Her photographs are currently on exhibit at the Harrison Gallery in Vancouver, the YVR International Airport, in permanent collections at the Vancouver General Hospital and in private collections.
